Bill wanted a car valet canopy that could be used vehicles as large as lorries… our structurally sound wide-spanning solution provided the answer.
Due to the application of the canopy it had to be very large and wide-spanning in order to wash lorries. Because of this, our solution was perfect due to the fact that we use superior steel rather than a weaker metal such as aluminium, allowing our canopies to have a large span with no intermediate posts so that lorries and the like can be washed as well as cars and vans.
The main criteria was a valet canopy which would clean a range of vehicles without the water deflecting elsewhere. The canopy also needed to offer coverage to the workers who stand outside for the majority of the day performing car valet.
Due to the size of the area they wanted to cover, the canopy itself was a double curved canopy and a fairly straightforward design as the area was open with limited obstacles and obstructions. The open space also meant that the installers could work as efficiently as possible without any disruption.
Once the final drawings had been signed off Bill Calvert wanted the structure to have only a galvanised finish due to the purpose of the canopy. Clear polycarbonate was also selected for the roof glazing and side panelling, ensuring that the maximum amount of natural light could be emitted into the canopy.
