Mr Birch contacted us with a requirement for a carport which would shelter his caravan and protect it from the trees and weather. Mr Birch also wanted the canopy to be a little bit wider to provide an area that he could use for storage as well.
We went along and met Mr Birch and listened to his requirements. Whilst there we surveyed the area where the carport was going to be installed and made a note of all of the requirements for the canopy designers.
1. there was a walkway at the rear of the canopy so we had to make sure that the posts didn’t collide with that.
2. Mr Birch also had a fence surrounding his garden and he wanted the colour to match.
3. to avoid planning permission we needed to keep the eaves height less than 2.5 metres so the rise on the curve needed to be enough to avoid the top of the caravan.
4. Mr Birch already had a concreted area and wanted the one side of posts in the garden to maximise the covered space.
The designers made up the first draft of CAD drawings which were quickly signed off by Mr Birch and our surveyor – the canopy was marked for production.
Once a manufactured date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Installation of the canopy was straightforward and by the end of the first day the canopy was in place and wiped down ready to hand over to Mr Birch.
The fitting team were brilliant, a really nice bunch of guys. They worked hard and worked late and their attention to detail was impeccable.
