Mr Bagley, our customer approached us with a requirement for a custom carport to protect him and his car from the elements all year round. Mr Bagley is physically disabled and uses a wheelchair so he wanted to keep the space between his bungalow and garage covered so that when he is going in and out to his car or garage he can do that undercover and stay dry.
The main detail and criteria on our site visit were to make sure we could avoid the soffits on the garage and bungalow using cranked posts and to make sure we could fill the space between the two buildings. As Mr Bagley has a hobby workshop in his garage he goes to and from his house quite frequently so we wanted to provide him with complete coverage.
The first draft drawings were created following the site survey and Mr Bagley gave valuable feedback and was able to confirm all of our measurements for his custom carport. We had to ensure that the cranked posts were the right size and that the contoured roof was curved enough so that the aesthetics were right.
Mr Bagley signed the final drawings for his custom carport off and chose the contemporary colour Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), which would complement the surroundings. Mr Bagley chose clear polycarbonate for the roof glazing as he wanted to ensure maximum light transmission. Once a manufactured date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Although the installation of the canopy was straightforward due to us providing the millimeter perfect custom solution for Mr Bagley, it was a bitterly cold day and snow was falling. Despite this, our specialist installation team pursued and the carport was fully installed within two days.
Just a short note to say how chuffed I am with the carport. The quality is tremendous & the carport fits exactly how I wanted it to… It fits like a glove! In most instances, the response I got when I made inquiries with other suppliers whilst looking for a canopy solution was … we can’t make it fit like that. Really happy.
