Trevor & Lynne, our customer approached us with a requirement for a double carport canopy to cover their cars to give protection from the pigeons, seagulls and the sea air blowing in from the coast (which had ruined the paintwork on their previous car).
Trevor & Lynne live in a beautiful house with an exceptional sea view. Trevor and Lynne were very exacting with the canopy and the style they wanted, which is one of the main reasons for choosing Kappion, they also required sides on the canopy to protect from the driving sea breeze.
The canopy itself was a straightforward design as the area was open, but aesthetics and location were critical due to the beautiful area. The installation location for the carport was going to be in front of their office as they work from home.
Trevor & Lynne signed the final drawings off and wanted the structure to be powder coated in Anthracite Grey (RAL7016), which would blend into the surroundings, buildings and area. They chose Bronze polycarbonate for the roof glazing and sidewall panels, which helps hide bird muck, the debris falling from the trees and also helps the canopy blend in.
Once a manufactured/delivered date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Installation of the canopy was straightforward (apart from the very rocky and tough groundworks) and by the end of the first day the canopy roof was glazed and prepared for final fixing. On the second day the carport was located and secured onto its posts and the side panelling installed, followed by a final wipe down and hand over with Trevor & Lynne.
The carport is doing its job, it is great knowing the seagulls can’t “get” my car whilst its parked! I noticed a huge splodge on the canopy this morning!!!
I think it is a structure of real beauty, can’t fault it!! The colour scheme is also perfect for its location. We will now be giving the roof on the house a coat of fresh paint to blend it all in.
