Paul got in touch with the Kappion team whilst searching for a carport to cover the rear of his driveway and provide cover for the entrance to his garage and property.
Paul is a proud owner of a TVR Chimarea and it has been with him for 25 years and we managed to get him to park it underneath his fresh new carport… A carport always looks better with a car parked underneath and if you can get one where the colour pops like Pauls TVR does, even better!
The estimated price was well received, and the next step was for us to conduct a site survey. During the survey, we took our usual detailed 360 point cloud scans and discussed with Paul how he wanted to use the area and how much coverage he wanted.
We decided that the carport would reach to the boundary and abut the garage to provide protection when moving in and out of the garage. This would be a nice usable covered space. Following the survey we sent Paul a 360 walkthrough video so he could see exactly how the canopy was going to look once it had been installed. Our customers love this part of our process it really helps from a visual and practical use point of view. It also helps identify parts that need to change because of collision.

Order Placed, Engineering Started:
Our design engineers began with the production CAD drawings. Paul requested for the carport structure to be powder-coated in RAL 7010 Tarpaulin Grey fine textured finish. Whilst thats not a standard colour for us we think it turned out really nice.
Paul decided the roof should be glazed in Clear structured polycarbonate as this will give a light and airy feel to the canopy and allow the light into the windows and door of the adjacent property.
Once the carport had been manufactured, our project manager arranged a suitable date for the carport to be delivered and erected.
