Our customer Brendan contacted us looking for a Stormshield valet bay canopy because he was opening a new site where he wanted to wash and valet customers cars. Kappion’s free-standing valet bay canopy offered the perfect solution with cost-effective infills.
During the site visit, it was clear that this was going to be a straightforward installation because of the level ground, the open work area and concrete pad already in situ. The site visit was mainly spent going over the exact size required, which was determined by the largest vehicles that will be valeted such as large vans. To enclose the Stormshield valet bay canopy, we suggested that we use our PVC Stormshield due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. The aim was to protect vehicles and workers from wind and rain and stop overspray from the jet wash.
Brendan confirmed the size of the canopy and he opted for Stormshield on both sides of the canopy. Furthermore, we made sure that the downpipes were designed so that the water would run into the canopy and not escape. The production drawings were raised and signed off by Brendan who chose to have the powder coated Traffic White (RAL9016). We specified clear polycarbonate for the roof to allow as much light as possible to flood into the work area beneath the canopy.
Once installation began the canopy took shape very quickly and by the end of the first day, the framework was levelled, secured and bolted down. The last day was spent glazing the canopy, and installing the downpipes and side-wall Stormshields. Finally, the canopy was cleaned down and inspected by Brendan who was pleased with the final result.
After installation, it was evident that the Traffic White colour and white Stormshield worked well. The canopy looked sleek and substantial and the working area underneath the canopy was light and airy. Although this is a commercial Stormshield valet bay canopy, aesthetics are still an important factor for our customers. Our canopies not only perform well, but they look stunning at the same time.
