At Kappion, we’re always thrilled when a customer appreciates the dedication and precision that goes into every structure we create. So, when Stuart, an engineer himself from Doncaster, approached us, we knew he’d have a keen eye for quality. Stuart was looking for a modern, contemporary carport solution for two vehicles, and crucially, he desired a wide, open-span beam at the front, eliminating the need for any intermediate posts, to maximise accessibility and aesthetics.
Precision Planning: From Lidar Scans to Virtual Reality
Understanding Stuart’s vision and the specifics of his property was paramount. Our experienced surveyor visited Stuart’s Doncaster home, employing cutting-edge technology to capture the designated area. Using 360 lidar point cloud scans, we gathered incredibly precise measurements and topographical data. This information was then brought back to our design studio, where our talented team transformed the raw data into a tangible vision.
We didn’t just create static drawings; we developed a fully immersive 360 walkthrough video of the proposed Europort carport. This allowed Stuart to virtually step into his future carport, experiencing the design, dimensions, and how it would integrate with his existing space. This meticulous approach ensures complete clarity and confidence before any manufacturing begins.
Collaboration and Calculation: Refining the Design
Once Stuart had reviewed the virtual model and was happy with the proposed design, our structural engineers took over. Their expertise was crucial in calculating the exact material specifications required to achieve the wide, unsupported span Stuart desired while ensuring uncompromising strength and durability. This detailed analysis allowed us to provide Stuart with a comprehensive and accurate final price for the project.
With the quotation accepted, our team moved into the production design engineering phase. This involves translating the approved concept into precise technical drawings and a detailed CAD model. We believe in complete transparency, so these final plans were shared with Stuart for his official sign-off, ensuring he was completely satisfied with every aspect of the design before a single piece of steel was cut.
Crafted with Pride: The Kappion Manufacturing Process
At Kappion, we specialise in steel. It’s a material that demands expertise and robust processing, but it’s the backbone of our durable and stylish carports. We don’t shy away from the hard work involved; in fact, we pour a great deal of pride and dedication into every stage of fabrication. From precision cutting and welding to the final finishing, each Kappion carport is a testament to our commitment to quality.
Bringing the Vision to Life: Installation in Doncaster
With the Europort carport components meticulously manufactured and quality-checked in our warehouse, it was time to bring Stuart’s vision to life. We liaised with Stuart to arrange a convenient installation date. Our skilled installation team then travelled to Doncaster and, over a period of just three days, expertly erected the carport.
The result? A stunning, modern, and highly functional Europort carport that perfectly meets Stuart’s requirements for a two-car shelter with an impressive, unobstructed open span.
We’re incredibly proud of the Doncaster project and thrilled that Stuart, with his engineer’s perspective, recognised and valued the Kappion difference. It’s a testament to our team’s dedication to precision, quality materials, and a customer-centric approach.
