We recently had the pleasure of returning to a highly valued client in Colchester to take their vehicle washing facilities to the next level. The brief was clear: eliminate the persistent issue of jet wash overspray across three active bays without compromising the visual appeal of the forecourt. To achieve this, we designed and installed a bespoke wash bay screen system that fully encloses all three bays. By containing the water and cleaning chemicals, this new enclosure ensures a clean, dry, and safe environment for both customers and adjacent walkways, making the entire jet wash operation far more functional and user-friendly.
Spanning a substantial 14-metre by 7-metre overall perimeter, the structure is an absolute standout. We finished the heavy-duty framework in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, bringing a sleek, contemporary edge to the facility. To perfectly balance privacy with an open feel, we incorporated smoked tinted glass along the side walls of each jet wash bay. This thoughtful addition gives users a comfortable sense of seclusion while washing their vehicles. At the rear of the structure, we opted for crystal-clear glass panels, allowing natural light to flood the space and preventing the bays from feeling dark or confined.
A successful installation always relies on excellent groundworks, and our client delivered exactly that. Prior to our arrival, they successfully poured and set robust concrete foundations tailored exactly to our specifications. This flawless site preparation allowed our engineering team to get straight to work, firmly securing the framework by chemically anchoring the bolted posts directly into the concrete. The result is a rock-solid installation engineered to withstand heavy daily use, high-pressure water, and the harshest British weather.
