Wide Half-Curved Carport installed in Hampshire

Our free-standing double carport gave our customer a premium solution and offered full coverage and protection from the elements. Peter approached us wanting a sizeable double carport to be installed at the side of his property in Hampshire. We have most definitely provided him with the best carport solution.

Firstly, Peter lives in a beautiful property on the coastline. However, as his property is situated on the top of a hill he is exposed to high winds. He wanted a structurally-sound carport canopy that would provide him with protection but also to complement the aesthetics of the area. Peter previously had a temporary shelter in place but was looking for something that was more aesthetically pleasing. The new Kappion carport needed to be installed on the left-hand side of his property on his driveway.

On the survey with Peter we had to discuss the size of his carport, the post positions and the ground level. We used our BLK360 Leica scanner to determine the exact size of the space and therefore the carport. Our scanner captures a detailed scan of the desired area and transfers them into a point cloud file. Our designers can then begin designing the carport to fit the space perfectly.

In order to stay within permitted development the total height of the canopy had to be under 2.5 metres. For us to achieve a total height of 2.5m, we had to tuck the canopy gutter underneath the guttering on Peter’s property. Peter signed the final drawings off and asked for the structure to be powder coated in ‘Brown Grey (RAL 7013), which would compliment the surroundings and finishes. Whilst the colour looks extremely professional, there is a wide range of colours to choose from (1625 to be precise).

Peter opted for clear polycarbonate for the roof glazing which allows the maximum amount of light transmission to enter the canopy. Once a manufactured delivered date had been confirmed the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.

The installation of the canopy was straightforward and by the end of the first day the canopy structure was in place and ready to be glazed with polycarbonate in the morning.

Our fitting team gave the canopy a final wipe down and handed over to Peter who was ecstatic with his new carport! All that’s left is for Peter to complete the ground-works on his driveway.
