We are back in Goring! After wrapping up a fantastic log store on this very same site just last week, we couldn’t wait to share the main event. A massive shoutout to Sam, who has well and truly smashed this project out of the park.
This isn’t your average vehicle shelter. We’ve delivered a bespoke, heavy-duty carport that perfectly balances contemporary aesthetics with serious structural engineering.
Here is a closer look at how it all came together.
📐 Serious Scale and Seamless Parking
Sitting at a whopping 12m x 6m footprint and 2.2m high, this carport offers an incredible amount of space.
One of the biggest requirements was making sure the client could park with absolute ease. To achieve this, we engineered the structure with no posts along the front beam, completely eliminating any frustrating obstructions.
Spanning that kind of distance required some heavy-duty structural work. The front span is created by two 6-metre truss beams securely bolted together in the centre. Handling steel of this magnitude is no small feat—we had to bring in a spider crane to safely lift the humongous front beam, which weighed in at over 500kg! For ultimate stability and peace of mind, all supporting posts have been deeply concreted directly into the ground.
🖤 Striking Contemporary Aesthetics
This canopy was designed to make a statement. We gave it a strictly modern, premium look through several key design choices:
- The Fascia: We installed a massive 870mm fascia around the entire roofline to give it a bold, contemporary edge.
- The Finish: The entire frame is powder-coated in a striking RAL 9004 Signal Black with a fine-textured finish, providing both durability and a sleek, high-end look.
- The Infills: To wrap the space together, we added stylish WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) infills running three-quarters of the way up the sides. Not only do these look fantastic against the black frame, but they also provide excellent privacy and added security for the vehicles inside.
🌧️ Weather-Proof Roofing
Protection from the elements is the ultimate goal of any carport. For the roof, we utilised high-quality Aluminium Trapezoid sheeting. Crucially, we included an integrated anti-condensation layer underneath. This ensures that no matter how cold or damp the British weather gets, there won’t be any moisture dripping down onto the cars below.
Another incredible build completed, and another massive win for Sam and the team! It’s always a pleasure working in Goring, and seeing this colossal structure come to life has been incredibly rewarding.
