Peter, our customer approached us with the requirement for a double motor home carport to cover his vehicles and motorhome, which were constantly getting covered in bird excrement. Peter wanted to protect his cars from bird excrement, high winds and falling debris and leaves caused by the protected tree on his front drive.
In this case, aesthetics were integral for Peter as his double carport would be visible when approaching his property. Peter loved our beautiful curve and we agreed that it would give a modern and contemporary feel to his property.
Accordingly, we had to work with Peter and supply drawings to obtain planning permission for his double motor home carport as he carport would be installed on his front drive, at 2.9 meters high, with a protected tree. Consequently, after our first survey, we had to return to confirm the post positions. This was because there was concern that we could cause damage to the roots of the tree. Furthermore, we had to design a canopy with a taper to avoid the roots underground yet fit the space as effectively as possible, which we managed to achieve.
Peter signed off the final drawings and chose RAL No.8019 (Grey-Brown), which complemented his brickwork and the surrounding area very well. He then chose clear polycarbonate to allow as much light into the carport as possible.
Our team confirmed the manufacture date and then contacted Peter and organised an installation date that suited him. Due to the efficiency of our team, we managed to complete the installation in the time planned.
Once the installation started and following the completion of the groundwork’s, the canopy took shape quite quickly. By the end of the first day, the completed frame was bolted together, squared up and in the ground, despite the tricky taper. On the second day, we installed the polycarbonate, cleaned the canopy, and then the team inspected Peters double motor home carport with him to ensure he was happy with the installation.
