Every now and then, we get to work on a project that truly pushes the boundaries of outdoor design and engineering. Our latest installation in High Wycombe is exactly that—a absolute beast of a carport canopy that perfectly balances structural innovation with high-end aesthetics.
When our client, Linda, approached us, she had a specific challenge. Her driveway featured a notoriously tight turning circle, meaning traditional support posts would drastically get in the way of parking.
Here is how we solved it, creating a sleek, ultra-functional shelter for her vehicles.
The Ultimate Span: 8.6 Metres, Just Two Posts
The star of the show is the jaw-dropping 8.6-metre front beam. To give you an idea of the engineering feat here, this massive span is supported by only two posts.
By eliminating the need for center pillars, we completely opened up Linda’s driveway. She can now navigate that tight turning circle with absolute ease and peace of mind—no awkward maneuvering or fear of clipping a post.
Sleek Aesthetics & Premium Finishes
While the engineering is heavy-duty, the look is pure sophistication. Linda wanted a contemporary design that complemented her property, so we pulled out all the stops:
- 7016 Anthracite Grey: The structure is finished in the ever-popular, ultra-modern Anthracite Grey, giving it a crisp, architectural edge.
- Wrap-Around Fascia: A seamless, clean wrap-around fascia conceals the framework, ensuring the canopy looks stunning from every single angle.
- Classy WPC Cladding: We added premium Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) cladding to the sides, introducing a beautiful, low-maintenance texture that screams luxury.
Built to Battle the Elements (and the Birds!)
Beautiful trees overhead are great for privacy, but they come with a major downside: overhead birds and falling debris.
To protect Linda’s cars, we installed 10mm bronze polycarbonate roofing. Not only does this glaze reduce glare and look incredibly smart, but it also provides a highly durable shield against bird muck and falling leaves, keeping her vehicles pristine.
And the sleek design doesn’t stop at the roofline. Rainwater management is completely hidden away thanks to a discreet internal downpipe routed through the rear right post. No ugly plastic pipes cluttering the exterior!

A massive shoutout to Linda’s builder! They expertly prepped the site with perfectly leveled concrete piers. This allowed our team to chemically anchor the canopy structure with absolute ease and precision, ensuring maximum structural integrity for decades to come.
