Tony approached us with a need for a free-standing carport which needed to be installed to the front of his double garage, behind his gates. With the harsh weather on the horizon, he wanted to ensure the protection of his vehicles from the elements and to cover the parking spaces right in front of his garage. Let’s face it who can fit their car in a garage these days. More and more they are used as storage spaces or converted into rooms. Carports are flexible and protect you from the ice, snow, rain and harsh weather we have in the UK.
Tony lives in a beautiful house in a tranquil area with a modern and contemporary feel and therefore wanted an aesthetically pleasing carport to blend in. The carport needed to be free-standing and supported with four posts in the ground. The simplicity of the design made it a very easy process and the only limitations were Tony’s requirements.
Following Tony’s acceptance of our final price, we engineered the CAD drawings and got them sent over to Tony to make sure that he was happy with our design and dimensions. Tony signed the final drawings off quickly as our free-standing carport design was very straight-forward.
Our customer wanted the structure to be powder coated in Jet Black Textured (RAL9005) which would exaggerate the contemporary and modern style of our carports. Clear polycarbonate was chosen for the roof glazing to allow as much light as possible to flood in. Once a manufactured date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Installation of the canopy was straightforward as the carport was free-standing and the groundworks involved were not complicated. One of our fitting teams worked efficiently using all of their expertise and the main structured of the carport was installed on the first day. On the second day the team glazed the roof and cleaned the canopy down, ready for Tony to inspect it.
Following the installation, Tony was extremely happy with his finished free-standing carport and he paid the remaining balance immediately… before the guys managed to get back to the factory!
