They say go big or go home, and today in Telford, we did both.

We’ve just wrapped up an installation for Nicola, who had a clear vision for her property: she needed to extend her garage’s functionality without the hassle of a traditional brick-and-mortar build. The result? A stunning, custom-engineered canopy that we can confidently call a masterpiece.
The Vision: More Than Just a Carport
Nicola’s goal was twofold. She needed a dry, protected space for her cars, but she also required cover for her tank. By “overshooting” the existing garage line, we’ve created a seamless transition that effectively doubles her usable workspace.
This isn’t just a lean-to; it’s a strategic extension of her home’s footprint.
Technical Precision & Clever Engineering
Every site has its quirks, and this one required some serious “out of the box” thinking. Here is how we brought the project to life:
- The Tapered Design: To make the structure work with the existing layout, we cleverly tapered the canopy over the secondary building, joining it perfectly to the garage.
- Built for the Terrain: Nicola has sloped ground, which can often be a nightmare for standard kits. We worked with the levels, utilising her existing concrete pad on the left-hand side to securely bolt the structure down.
- The “Whopping” Scale: Spanning a massive 9 metres by 5 metres, this is one of the more substantial domestic installations we’ve completed recently.
Premium Specs
When you build on this scale, the finish has to be spot on. Nicola opted for a timeless, high-contrast look:
- Frame: Powder-coated in RAL 9005 Jet Black for a sleek, modern aesthetic.
- Roof: Bronze Polycarbonate, which provides excellent shade and a warm, premium feel while keeping the area underneath dry and debris-free.
A Note on Drainage: We designed the water to exit directly through the post and onto the grass. Nicola is already planning the next step—adding a drainage system or a water butt to harvest that Telford rainfall!
Why This Project Stands Out
It’s rare to see a canopy that balances such sheer size with delicate architectural integration. By matching the height of the garage and tapering the transition, the canopy doesn’t look like an “add-on”—it looks like it was always meant to be there.
Whether it’s protecting the cars from the elements or keeping the tank area bone-dry, this installation is the perfect blend of form and function.
Does your driveway or garage need a “masterpiece” upgrade? Whether you have sloped ground, awkward buildings to navigate, or just need a “whopping” amount of cover, we can help.
