Stephen and Lynne approached us with a requirement for a quarter curved carport to protect their vehicle and themselves from the harsh and unpredictable weather that we face in this country.
Stephens wife Lynne is a physically disabled person and Stephen has to help her get in and out of their car. As this can be somewhat time-consuming they wanted a wide quarter curved carport to cover their car and the immediate surrounding area. They wanted coverage all the way to the house so that they would always be protected from the driving rain and prevailing winds.
They live in a beautiful house with a classic and contemporary feel and so wanted a quarter curved carport to not only provide protection but add to the aesthetics.
The carport itself was a simple quarter curved design and no planning permission was needed as Stephen met the minimum requirements for permitted development. In short the carport had to be no more than 2.5 metres total height as it was within 2 metres of his boundary.
Stephen signed the final drawings off and wanted the structure to be powder coated in Jet Black (RAL9005), which would complement and blend with the surroundings. They chose Bronze polycarbonate for the roof glazing, which helps the canopy hide bird mess and debris falling from trees. Bronze polycarbonate also blends well with trees and fencing.
Once a manufactured date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Installation of the canopy was straightforward due to the open space. The Kappion fitting team made good time, using their experience the carport was installed efficiently in just two days. Once installation was finished, we had a final wipe down and hand over with Stephen and Lynne. They were extremely happy with the finished product.
