A Kappion Qubik Carport Hybrid Installed in Hertfordshire

Colin got in touch with the team back in November whilst searching for a modern contemporary carport. Colin wanted to change the use of his garage and install a carport in front of the converted garage to park two cars.

This Qubik carport features a wall of glass for protection, LED light bars and LED down lighters, all controlled from a PIR and remote control.

Colin sent us a note following installation:

We are delighted with the finished product, moreover, I am particularly delighted in how efficient you and everyone who has been involved in the project has been. I will have no hesitation in recommending your company/product. From my first telephone call to you through to my last wave goodbye to fitters – an excellent service.

As Colin’s estimated price was well received, the next step was for us to conduct a site survey conduct a site survey. During the survey, our surveyor discussed every aspect of the project with Colin. Colin loved the look of the Qubik and the Europort but how he wanted it configured it could only be a Europort BUT we designed a hybrid in the end and it turned out exactly how Colin wanted it to be – modern, contemporary with classy looks… The scans taken on site allowed us to create the 3D visual for Colin, showing his canopy in situ.

Colin was over the moon with the design, and loved what we did with the Qubik hybrid. We calculated the final price for him, including a wall of glass on the right hand side and he was happy to proceed.

Order Placed:

Our design engineers quickly began with the production CAD drawings. Colin requested for the canopy structure to be powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey fine textured finish. Anthracite Grey is our most popular colour choice amongst our customers.

We duplex coat our super strong steel carports, which means they last a long, long time. What’s a duplex coat? First we complete all of the fabrication, drilling and welding and then we perform a trial build in one of our canopy production halls. Once we are happy with the build it is dismantled and the whole structure, every steel section is hot dip galvanised. Following the galvanising process it is prepared for powder coating where we coat the structure in 80 microns of fine textured powder before baking in the ovens….just check out the finish on that steel structure.

Furthermore, Colin asked for the roof to be glazed in Opal polycarbonate. As you can see from the photos above, this combination works very well and Opal polycarbonate is the most effective at hiding debris from surrounding trees, whilst still reflecting light.

Once the canopy had been manufactured, our project manager arranged a suitable date for the carport to be delivered and erected.

The structure was fully installed in just 2 days! A rapid install by our fitters, but still installed and finished to a very high standard. This Qubik hybrid carport fits like a glove, maximising the space on the drive. Colin couldn’t be happier with his brand new Kappion Canopy!
