Wall attached curved Carport installed in Cheadle, Staffordshire

Ralph approached us with a need of a carport canopy situated at the side of his property, in front of his garage. Ralph already had an existing carport, but it was damaged and needed to be removed. Ralph wanted something that was contemporary, curved and something that would match the colour of the modifications made to his house.

The initial visit to Ralph’s home was to confirm the size and configuration of the canopy, and also look at the ground. To get the accurate dimensions, we used our BLK360 Leica scanner which takes a detailed scan of the desired area and transfers them into little points, which we can open into a point-cloud file and begin designing the carport for our customer. The area needed to be covered as efficiently as possible as Ralph wanted to maximise the dry space for his vehicle. We quickly determined that the canopy would be attached the house and the posts would need to go into the ground.

Shortly after our survey and final quote, our deposit was paid and so the CAD drawings were raised. Once the final revision had been signed off, Ralph specified that he wanted the structure to be powder coated in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016). Clear polycarbonate was chosen for the roof which would allow the maximum light transmission into the patio area.

Once the canopy had been manufactured to Ralph’s requirements, our team organised the installation date to suit him and his schedule. The canopy installation got off to a swift start and we experienced no problems. By the end of the day, the structure was bolted together and glazed with polycarbonate. We tapped our carport down-pipe into Ralph’s existing gutter on his garage, which is connected to a standard water course. Our fitting team made a few customisation’s to ensure that our structural support was sufficient and be sure that the fixings were in correct place.

Ralph was ecstatic with the finished product as he now had a carport canopy solution that would last a lifetime. We made sure that all of Ralph’s needs were met, and that he was provided with a stunning yet practical carport canopy.
