Steve at Advanced Vehicle Rental contacted us in search for a valeting bay canopy for his site in Norwich. Steve wanted to provide his workers with protection from the elements as they’re outside washing vehicles all day long. Kappion’s free-standing valet bay canopy offered the perfect solution.
Soon after we received Steve’s enquiry, our project management team organised a suitable date for our surveyor to go and undertake a site survey.
During the site visit, it was clear that this was going to be a straightforward installation. An existing concrete pad was already in place, making it easier when fixing the posts to surface. The ground level is pretty much flat, a large open work area and concrete pad already in situ. Our site visit was mainly spent going over the exact sizes required which the largest vehicles that the guys valet on site would determine.
Steve confirmed the size of the canopy and we decided that two curves would be the best option. Using our high-tech scanning equiptment we took a scan of the area which allowed us to gather the exact measurements of the space. Steve was happy to sign the production drawings off after choosing to have the structure powder-coated Jet Black (RAL 9005). As the valeting bay is in customer view Steve wanted it to look the business. We specified clear polycarbonate for the roof to allow as much light as possible to flood into the work area beneath the canopy.
Once the installation began the canopy took shape very quickly and by the end of the first day, the framework level, secure and in the air. The second day was spent glazing the canopy roof with polycarbonate. Finally, our installation team made sure the canopy was clean and ready for inspection.
