When you invest in a motorhome, keeping it sheltered from unpredictable weather is essential. Our team recently completed a standout project in Leeds for Simon, who was looking for a high-quality, custom-engineered home for his valued motorhome.
After putting our heads together with Simon to evaluate the space and discuss his goals, we designed and built a completely tailored canopy that solves every spatial challenge on his property while looking like a natural extension of the home.
Engineering for a Tapered Driveway
Standard, off-the-shelf canopy structures simply wouldn’t work for this site. Simon’s driveway tapers from front to back, requiring meticulous custom fabrication:
- Precision-Tapered Roof: To follow the precise angle of the driveway, every individual clear polycarbonate panel, rafter, and gutter section had to be custom-tapered.
- Side Storm Shield: On the left-hand side, we installed a dedicated storm shield to block driving rain, wind, and debris blowing in from nearby conifer trees.
- Removable Design: Because the conifers run alongside the canopy, we made the storm shield fully removable. Simon can easily detach it whenever he needs space to trim back the trees, then pop it back into place.
Grand Scale Meets Light, Bright Design
Accommodating a motorhome requires substantial height and clearance without making the driveway feel dark or enclosed:
- Generous Dimensions: Measuring a massive 4m x 10m with a 3m eaves height, the canopy offers plenty of room to park and maneuver, enhanced by a unique curved roof design.
- RAL 9001 Cream Finish: Simon selected RAL 9001 Cream for the framework. The warm tone matches the surrounding property effortlessly, keeping the overall structure looking light, bright, and stylish.
- Clear Polycarbonate Panels: The clear roof glazing provides complete weatherproofing while allowing full natural light to filter through onto the driveway.
Built to Last
The finished canopy gives Simon complete peace of mind, protecting his motorhome from driving rain, UV rays, and falling tree sap all year round. With its custom fit, removable weather protection, and crisp cream finish, it’s a long-lasting upgrade to his property.
