We recently installed Geoff’s carport and we returned this week to install his Cantilevered Brella Canopy. He wanted his canopy to cover his patio area but didn’t want any posts in the way of his windows and doors. With that in mind, we suggested that the cantilevered brella style would be the most fitting.
We arranged to undertake a site survey shortly after Geoff contacted us. The area where he wanted his canopy installed was rather awkward due to the positions of the windows and doors. Due to the nature of the area and the solution that Geoff wanted, our surveyor knew that we needed every single dimension. Using our high tech scanning equipment and 3D modelling our designers we were able to design the canopy in a pointcloud file. This allowed us to make sure that the canopy would fit like a glove.
Geoff signed off the final canopy drawings once we had finalised the sizes and illustrated how we would complete the groundworks. Our team had to complete the groundworks ready for the two centre posts two weeks prior to the rest of canopy installation.
Geoff specified that he wanted the structure to be powder-coated in Anthracite Grey (RAL7016) to complement his patio area and his soon to be installed matching windows and doors. He chose clear polycarbonate for the roof which would allow the maximum amount of light transmission into the canopy, keeping it light and airy.
Once the installation started the the brella canopy took shape relatively quickly. By the end of the first day, the structure was in the air and set in place. The second day was spent glazing the canopy with polycarbonate, finishing off minor details and cleaning up the site to present to Geoff.
Due to our extensive installation experience, planning and design this canopy installation went as smoothly as planned. We and our customer were extremely pleased with the finished product.
