Our customer Hazel approached us with a requirement for a carport and a patio canopy. Hazel wasn’t set on what style carport she wanted so this would be something we could discuss during the survey or decide when designing the carport after the survey. Aesthetics were important to Hazel as she wanted her carport to match the fascia, windows and doors of her property.
Following the initial estimate, Hazel was happy with our prices for her carport and patio canopy. We then organised a site survey and design consultation. During our survey, we used our high tech 3D scanning equipment to scan the area. Our scanner collects all of the data and translates it into a point cloud file. We then design the canopy within the point cloud, ensuring it will fit the space perfectly. Our designer then creates a 3D video walkthrough to show our customer, helping Hazel visualise the final product.
After seeing the 3D video and the accepting her final price, we engineered the canopy drawings which Hazel later signed off with a request for the structure to be powder-coated in RAL 7021 Black Grey to complement her property. Furthermore, Hazel chose Opal polycarbonate for the carport, keeping it light, airy and contemporary. She chose Bronze polycarbonate for the patio canopy roof glazing as it is the most efficient when it comes to fallen debris and bird excrement.
Hazel also opted for Siberian larch infills installed to the left side of her carport for extra privacy and protection from the weather elements.
Once we had a manufacture completion date the installation team arranged a suitable date whereby they could deliver and erect the carport and patio canopy.
Installation of the carport and canopy went pretty smoothly with no issues. The patio canopy was fully installed within in 1 day, as was the carport. After completion, our fitters gave Hazel a quick tour of her finished carport and canopy to ensure she was happy.
Due to our extensive installation experience, planning and design this canopy installation went really smoothly with no surprises. We and our customer were extremely pleased with the finished product.
* Edit * November 2021…
Hazel got back in touch with us after her carport had been installed. Hazel had been living with the carport for a few months and had realised that having a lockable swing door into the garden along with a rear infill panel would be very beneficial. As the carport had been installed exactly as we designed on our computer software, we were able to design the door & infills to fit without having to come out and survey again.
See below the retrofitted door & solid larch and solid polycarbonate infills. They look great & Hazel loves them!
