We’re back in Ormskirk for another installation story featuring our long-time client, Tony. You may remember Tony’s property; we previously installed a custom canopy to house his caravan. It seems he developed a taste for outdoor comfort, because this time he wanted two more, and the result is the absolute pinnacle of contemporary style.
Here is a closer look at what we achieved:
The Installation: Design Meets Durability
When you are dealing with a property as modern as Tony’s, you need to be precise. His house features stunning light timber cladding paired with textured, artisanal brickwork. It’s a design that demands high-quality accessories, and our canopies were the perfect fit.
We decided to go with a 7015 Slate Grey powder coating for the aluminium frames. Why? Because it matches the modern window frames and downpipes on the house perfectly. For that “sleek finish,” we included a wrap-around fascia that hides the guttering, keeping the lines sharp.
Speaking of guttering, this installation was about precision: the water feeds neatly from the canopies directly into the property’s existing drainage system.
One Space, Two Experiences
This wasn’t just about covering square footage; it was about defining lifestyles. We split the installation across two distinct patio areas to create unique experiences:
The Hot Tub Retreat: On one side of the patio, we installed a canopy to cover Tony’s new hot tub. To complete the “year-round” experience, we added premium grey outdoor furniture and a steam detail. Now, Tony can relax in the hot tub, listening to a heavy downpour while staying completely dry—just as he envisioned.
The Al Fresco Dining Area: The second canopy covers a clean patio area set up with a full dining set. This is contemporary at its finest—a seamless transition from the house to the garden, perfect for dining and entertaining with family and friends in any season.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow
Our favourite element of this project is how the canopies integrate with the modern architecture. The photo perfectly captures the texture of the building, the path cutting through the rockery, and the way the structures provide protection without blocking the view of the fields on the horizon.
