Today’s team wrapped up a project in Sheffield that we are exceptionally proud of. Working closely with our client, John, we designed and installed a bespoke outdoor canopy structure tailored specifically to the layout and aesthetics of his garden. Measuring an expansive 3m x 9m with a comfortable 2.3m profile, this build completely redefines how the garden space can be enjoyed year-round.
Maximising Height and Natural Light
The defining feature of this structure is its pitched roof design. Beyond adding immediate architectural drama, the pitch draws the eye upward, creating a grand sense of volume and generous height right down the central spine. To maintain a bright, open atmosphere without sacrificing shelter, we fitted high-spec clear polycarbonate panels. This allows daylight to flood the driveway beneath, offering complete weather protection without ever feeling enclosed or dark.
Contemporary Framing and Smart Details
To give the structure a crisp, modern finish, the entire framework was completed in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey. Front and rear fascia trims were added to hide structural joins and deliver clean, contemporary sightlines from every angle in the garden.
Great installations come down to the hidden details. Rather than adding extra, unsightly pipework cluttering up the exterior brickwork, our installation crew neatly tapped the canopy’s drainage system straight into John’s existing home downpipe. It keeps the lines neat, clean, and completely streamlined.
Security, Style, and Bespoke Finishing
Functionality and boundary security were essential parts of this brief. We built in a lockable door, giving John secure, effortless access straight into the main garden area.
To resolve the tricky transition where the door met the neighboring wall, we custom-fitted an aluminium spaced infill panel. This bridged the gap seamlessly—delivering privacy, structural protection, and a touch of genuine class that pulls the entire side-elevation together.
From the smart drainage integration to the custom boundary infill, this 3m x 9m canopy brings top-tier craftsmanship and effortless style to John’s Sheffield home.
