Terence approached us with a requirement for a patio canopy to cover his patio area at the rear of his property. He enjoys entertaining, hosting BBQ’s and spending time outside with family and friends. Our patio canopy would provide him with a dry and airy space all year round.
So that the canopy wouldn’t block the view of the garden from the kitchen window, we suggested increasing the height of the canopy (2.9m against the property wall). As we custom design each canopy we can change measurements to work effectively with the space and circumstances.
Along the wall of the property we installed two cranked posts and one wall attached straight post. We used a wall attached straight post to cater fot the column on the back of the house (see images above). On the adjacent side of the canopy we installed three free-standing posts. Although we encountered a few minor complications with the downpipe and cable placements we were able to overcome these issues.
The patio canopy drawings were signed off and Terence chose to have the structure powder coated in Jet Black (RAL 9005) as it wanted it to look modern and contemporary. He chose clear 10mm polycarbonate for the roof which would allow the maximum light transmission through the windows and roof of the canopy.
Once a manufactured date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the patio canopy to be delivered and erected. The installation of the canopy took shape quite quickly and by the end of the first day, the structure was level, secure and in the air. Terence was delighted with the result and we were proud to deliver a safe, high-quality product at an affordable price.
