The NHS approached us with a requirement for an garden canopy to cover their paved area at the side of one of their buildings at the St Johns end of life Hospice. This particular patio canopy was kindly funded by the local community.
On our initial visit, we met up with one of the lovely staff members from the hospice to discuss their needs for the garden patio canopy. The area was relatively straightforward to cover. Patients will use the patio canopy as they wish as they can now sit outdoors all year around.
As for the canopy structure, we decided it would be the best option to bolt the eaves beam to the property wall and insert 2 posts on the garden side of the canopy. We also decided on having the downpipes exit over the gabion baskets as its the most suitable position.
The canopy drawings were signed off by the NHS and they wanted the structure to be powder coated in RAL 5018 Turquoise Blue Fine Textured. They decided on turquoise blue because it matches other elements within the garden. Our customers can choose any of the 1600 colours available on the RAL colour system. They also chose 10mm clear polycarbonate for the roof which would allow the maximum amount of light transmission under the garden patio canopy.
Once we had a manufactured delivery date, we contacted the hospice personnel to confirm a suitable date four our team to deliver and install the patio canopy.
Once installation started, the canopy took shape quite quickly and by the end of the day, the structure was bolted together and glazed with polycarbonate. Only one day was required for our team to fully install our customers canopy and complete the hand over to make sure they were happy.
Due to our extensive installation experience, planning and design this canopy installation went really smoothly with no surprises. We and our customer are extremely pleased with the finished product.
