Chris was looking to integrate his outdoor spaces with a series of canopies. He needed a carport that also sheltered his front entrance, a walkway canopy that extended from the carport, through a gate, and along the side of the garage to the rear door. Finally, he wanted a patio canopy that spanned the rear of his house, creating a sheltered outdoor seating area.
Chris’s custom canopy project included a carport with a right-hand side wall featuring rhombus-shaped Thermowood rainscreen infills. Our premium steel canopies, custom-fabricated for optimal fit and strength, were chosen for the project. The front carport was powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey with clear, diffused polycarbonate roofing. The walkway and patio canopies utilised RAL 1015 Light Ivory powder coating and clear polycarbonate.
The process
The estimated price was well received, and the next step was for us to conduct a site survey. During the survey, we took our usual detailed 360 point cloud scans and discussed with Chris how he wanted to use the area and how much coverage he wanted.
Following the survey we sent Chris a 360 walkthrough video so he could see exactly how the canopy was going to look once it had been installed. Our customers love this part of our process it really helps from a visual and practical use point of view. It also helps identify parts that need to change because of collision.
Order Placed, Engineering Started:
Our design engineers began with the production CAD drawings. Chris requested for the carport structure to be powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey fine textured finish and the walkway and patio canopies powder coated in RAL 1015 Light Ivory.
Chris decided the roof should be glazed in Clear structured polycarbonate as this will give a light and airy feel to the canopy.
Once the canopy combo had been manufactured, our project manager arranged a suitable date for the carport to be delivered and erected.
I must admit that it looks very classy and we are delighted with it.
