Chris had a vision: to fully integrate his outdoor spaces with a continuous, sheltered system. This wasn’t just about a single cover; it was about connecting the entire perimeter of his home with a series of canopies that were both functional and beautiful.

His ambitious project required three distinct but connected canopy areas:
- A carport that extended to shelter his main front entrance.
- A walkway canopy that flowed from the carport, through a gate, and along the side of the garage, right up to the rear door.
- A large patio canopy spanning the entire back of the house, creating a comfortable, sheltered outdoor living space.
Custom Design and Premium Materials
To handle a project of this scale and complexity, we opted for our premium steel canopies, custom-fabricated to ensure maximum strength and a perfect, tailored fit for every section.
Chris chose a sophisticated, multi-toned finish:
- Carport: Finished in a striking RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey powder coating. It also included a unique, modern touch: a right-hand side wall with rhombus-shaped Thermowood rainscreen infills for privacy and aesthetics.
- Walkway and Patio Canopies: Finished in a complementary, warm RAL 1015 Light Ivory powder coating.
All three sections were roofed with clear, structured polycarbonate, giving the whole area a light, airy, and open feel.
The Precision Process: From Survey to 3D Walkthrough
After receiving an enthusiastically-received estimated price, the project moved forward with our essential site survey.
During the survey, we went beyond simple measurements. We captured our usual detailed 360 point cloud scans to create a flawless digital model of the site. More importantly, we sat down with Chris to discuss his specific needs for coverage and how he planned to use each newly sheltered area.
The next step is always our clients’ favorite: the 360 walkthrough video. We sent Chris a realistic 3D video that allowed him to see exactly how the interconnected canopies would look once installed. This visual aid is invaluable—it not only brings the design to life but also helps us identify any potential changes or adjustments needed before manufacturing even begins. Chris loved the visualization, confirming the design was spot-on.
Engineering and Installation
With the design approved, our engineers got straight to work creating the detailed production CAD drawings. Chris confirmed his final colour choices—the fine-textured Anthracite Grey for the carport and the smooth Light Ivory for the rest.
Once the custom “canopy combo” had been meticulously manufactured, our project manager coordinated the final stage. The team arranged a delivery and installation date, and soon, Chris’s home was completely transformed, integrating his front, side, and rear outdoor spaces into one seamless, sheltered system.
I must admit that it looks very classy and we are delighted with it. Your lads have done a wonderful job, nothing was too much trouble, and we could see how much care they were taking over everything. They were great ambassadors and a real credit to your company. Everyone we have dealt with throughout the process have been professional, helpful, and friendly. Thanks very much!
