Chris reached out to us back in February with the requirement for a custom carport canopy. Chris had contacted many other canopy companies, but none of them was able to achieve what he wanted. Then Chris found us… We were the right company for Chris as we could design and manufacture an all-in-one integrated bespoke solution for him.
After a number of conversations with our sales and technical team, Chris decided to go ahead with a site survey so that we could scan the area, get dimensions and create a 3D video walkthrough for him. On-site, Chris & our surveyor Gary spoke in detail about what style would work best, custom elements and any changes / new ideas Chris had since his estimate. The canopy would need to be tapered on the left-hand side, as the garage is not 90 degrees from Chris’ house. Everything spoken about on-site was relayed back to the designer & integrated into the design….
The 3D visual showed Chris that we could design the canopy so that it fits the space perfectly, covering the side of this house, garage and a little section at the end of the property. After seeing the first REV, Chris asked for some spaced larch infills to add provide protection on the LHS. The updated visual showcased the aesthetics reassuring Chris that the tapered canopy would look stunning.
Drawings Sign-off
The final price for the solution was as expected and once Chris placed his order, our design engineers quickly started on the engineering drawings. We had to check that the drawings included particular custom elements of the solution such as wall-attached cranked posts, tapered rafters etc. The drawings were signed off by Chris, and before we knew it the canopy was being manufactured.
Chris requested for the canopy to be powder-coated in RAL 9005 (Jet Black) as he loved the contemporary modern look. Clear polycarbonate was selected for the roof material as Chris wanted to allow as much light into the canopy as possible.
Once the canopy had been manufactured we arranged a suitable installation date with Chris… We try to be as flexible as possible so that all of our customers’ needs are met.
After just two and a half days, the whole canopy solution had been erected, concreted into the ground and secured to the property. Despite the L-shape design, the rafters aligned perfectly giving the roof a seamless look. Needless to say, Chris was over the moon with the finished product and the service that he had received throughout the project.
