Wide Wall Attached Carport installed in Alford, Aberdeen

Installed in Alford, Aberdeen…our customer Alison, approached us with a requirement for a 6m x 6m carport. Alison wasn’t 100% sure on what style of carport she wanted but made an enquiry for a Europort carport and relayed to us that aesthetics were very important to her. Alison lives in a very remote and rural location with high winds and driving weather, so a carport was a must for her.

After speaking with Alison, we organised a site survey that best suited her schedule. During our survey, we discussed with Alison all of her needs & requirements, such as dimensions, infill options and any other questions and queries she had. On-site, Alison and Gary (our suryeor) decided that a wall attached half curved carport would be the best solution for her property. The curved rafters soften the look and compliment her property. Alison had seen some of our previous installations and had seen all of our infill options. Alison wanted something simple and classy looking to keep the wind out of her carport, so she, therefore, requested a Stormshield infill at the rear which is 25% permeable and has 3.3 tonnes of tensile strength. This optional extra keeps the driving weather out of the carport making getting in and out of the car a much more pleasurable experience.

Following the site survey:

After seeing the 3D visual following her site survey, Alison gave us the go-ahead. We designed the canopy to fit the space perfectly, so the sizes were slightly different from her initial estimate. We then came back to her with her final price, which again she was pleased with. Alison signed off her drawings and we raised the CAD drawings. Alison chose to have the structure powder-coated in RAL 7016, Anthracite Grey, which nicely compliments her property and the grey stormshield infill. She chose bronze polycarbonate for the roof which is brilliant for hiding debris from the sky and surrounding trees.

Once a manufactured/delivery date had been confirmed, our project manager arranged a suitable date for the carport to be delivered and erected. The canopy took shape quite quickly and by the end of the first day, the structure was bolted together, secured to the building and concreted into the ground, ready for the polycarbonate and infills to be installed on the second day.

Alison is absolutely overjoyed with her brand new Kappion carport and we are proud to deliver a safe high-quality product at an affordable price. All of our canopies are made from steel with full structural calculations for the installed postcode. You simply can’t buy better or stronger.

I am indeed over the moon, talked about it for so long and delighted with the finished product. Kappion were a pleasure to deal with from initial inquiry to site survey and virtual demo to construction and completion. Yes it is top of the range budget wise but worth it when you need it to stand up to the weather ❄️☃️💨💨🌧

Thank you for the kind words Alison!
