Our customer Paul had seen our carports and canopies all over our social media pages and thought they looked great! Paul particularly loved the Europort style as he knew it would blend in perfectly with his modern and contemporary home. Paul made his enquiry and provided us with a plan view sketch of the carport. One of our estimators’ dealt with the enquiry and got back to him the very next day with his quote.
Paul was happy with the estimate and wanted to proceed with a site survey. The project manager organised a date that worked well for both our and Paul’s schedules.
Site Survey
During the survey, Gary (our surveyor) and Paul discussed all of his practical requirements for the carport along with his visual requirements. During our site surveys, we use our very clever 360 Leica scanner. The scanner effectively takes multiple photographs of the area along with millions of little points…which then creates a point cloud file. We can then design the canopy within this point cloud..ensuring it fits perfectly against the property.
Following the survey, Gary passed all this additional information on to the designer along with the scans. The designer then created a 3D video walkthrough to show Paul the canopy in situ. This visual helps our customers to visualise the final product against their property. Paul saw the visual and approved it right away as it was everything he was expecting.
After confirming a few details like the RAL colour, polycarbonate colour and infill material, we began Paul’s in-depth production drawings. After 1 revision, Paul signed off the production drawings…so we sent his canopy into production!
Paul had requested a wall of powder-coated aluminium slatted infills and a single lockable gate. He wanted his chunky wrap-around fascia to be powder-coated in RAL 9016 to match his property and for the posts and infills to be powder-coated in RAL 7012 to match his gates. At first we were sceptical about the white fascia not looking contemporary, but after installation, all of our fears were washed away. It looks fantastic! You can’t deny that this looks like a million dollars.
Once the total canopy structure had been fully manufactured, our project manager arranged with Paul a suitable installation date. The installation of this canopy took a total of 3 and a half days due to its size. Paul is ecstatic with the end result. It looks as if the canopy was built with the house!
