Mr Johnston, our customer approached us with a requirement for a double carport canopy to cover his car’s and to give protection from the surrounding trees but especially the pigeons who seem to love dropping mess everywhere – not great for car paintwork.
Mr Johnston lives in a modern and contemporary dwelling and wanted a carport canopy to not only provide protection but add to the aesthetics of the area.
The canopy itself was a straightforward design as the area was open but limited in size, so we designed the canopy to go from the boundary wall right to the balustrade, leaving space for the car doors to open.
Mr Johnston signed the final drawings off and wanted the structure to be powder coated in Jet Black (RAL9005), which would complement the external fixtures and fittings on his property. Mr Johnston chose Opal polycarbonate for the roof glazing, which helps hide the debris falling from the trees and the bird poo, but also makes it feel light below the canopy.
Once a manufactured delivered date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Installation of the canopy was straightforward and by the end of the first day the canopy roof was glazed and prepared for final mounting. On the second day, it was lifted and located onto its posts followed by a final wipe down and hand over with Mr Johnston.
