Patio Canopy installed in Luton

At the end of last year, our customer Andy submitted an enquiry through our website for a patio canopy. Our estimators quickly sent Andy his estimate, which was well received. The next step was to go out and visit Andy at his home to scan the area and talk through his needs and requirements.

Firstly the initial visit to Luton was to discuss Andy’s needs, the area was relatively straightforward to cover but there was building work taking place to turn the space into an alfresco dining area. Andy pointed out that they were knocking through from the kitchen and installing wide patio doors so he didn’t want any posts interrupting the opening. No problem for us .. we are used to wide uninterrupted spans with our steel canopies.

On site, Andy told us that he would like the carport to be powder coated in RAL 9016 Traffic white, which would match the fenestration and patio area. We wanted to make sure that we maximised the use of the space to provide Andy with the best solution. We were able to do this using our high-tech 3D scanning equipment to scan the area. Andy wanted the canopy to have two projections, a main seating area and two smaller sections.

Our scanner collected all of the data from Andy’s patio … our designer then created a point cloud model using the data. Within the point cloud model, we could ensure the carport would fit the space perfectly against Andy’s home. Our designer created a 3D video walkthrough to show Andy, which really helped him to visualise the final product.

After the 3D Visual:

Our design engineers started on the production engineering drawings ready for production. Andy chose clear polycarbonate for the roof which allows the light to flood in but provides UV protection from the sun.

Once a manufactured/delivered date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the patio canopy to be delivered and erected. The structure took shape quickly. The structure was bolted together, secured to the wall, and concreted into the ground on the first day ready for the polycarbonate to be installed.

Another Happy Customer

Andy loves his brand-new Kappion patio canopy which provides the shelter he wanted to host dinner parties outdoors – all year round if he wants to. We are proud to deliver a safe high-quality product at an affordable price.

Just a quick note to let you know that we are delighted with the canopy – it looks even better than we envisaged. Your two installers were brilliant too.Andy
