Today, we wrapped up a project in Salisbury for Martin, who had a very specific goal: he wanted to protect his new investment with zero hassle.
The result? A sleek, 5x5m carport that blends high-end engineering with everyday practicality. Here’s how we tackled this bespoke installation.
Overcoming the “Impossible” Obstacles
Every driveway has its quirks, but we pride ourselves on the fact that we can navigate almost any obstacle. For Martin’s property, we had to work around an existing hopper.
Instead of a standard “one-size-fits-all” approach, we created a bespoke detail by separating the gutter beam around the hopper. We successfully bridged the gap as tightly as possible, ensuring a seamless look that doesn’t compromise on drainage or aesthetics. It’s these small, technical victories that make a massive difference in the final finish.
Maximising the Parking Span
Martin wanted to be able to pull in and out with total ease. To give him the maximum possible span for parking, we cranked the post right to the hedge line. By tucking the structural support away, we opened up the driveway, ensuring that the 5×5 frame provides plenty of “wiggle room” for the car without the risk of door-dings or tight manoeuvres.
Sleek Integration & Design
We believe a carport should look like it was built with the house, not just tacked onto it. To keep the profile clean:
- Smart Drainage: We utilised the existing house downpipe, tapping into it with Y-branches. This eliminates the need for extra ground-level piping and keeps the footprint tidy.
- Modern Palette: The frame is finished in 7016 Anthracite Grey, perfectly complemented by Opal Polycarbonate roofing. The opal finish is a fantastic choice—it allows plenty of light through while preventing that “greenhouse” heat buildup and hiding any debris that might land on top.
