A Salisbury Showcase: The Engineering Elegance of the Qubik Carport

We started the year off strong with a fantastic installation in Salisbury this past January. Every outdoor project has its challenges, and for this one, it was the typical British winter weather! We spent most of the installation dodging showers, so it was a massive relief when the sun finally broke through for the last couple of hours, allowing us to finish up and admire this beautiful structure in the best light.

Our client, Robert, had a clear brief: he needed a robust, stylish solution to comfortably cover two cars. The result is this stunning Qubik canopy—a project that really serves as a showcase for what this system can achieve.

Let’s take a closer look at the finished project.

The “Wow” Factor: Hidden Engineering

Looking at the image, the first thing you notice about the exterior is the clean, sharp lines. This is thanks to our single skin fascia. It does an incredible job of hiding the guttering system and masking the structural curve from the outside view, allowing the canopy to blend seamlessly with the sleek, dark wood cladding of the adjacent barn.

However, the real magic happens when you step underneath. As you enter the canopy, the “wow” factor hits immediately. The photo perfectly captures the magnificent rafter curve spanning entirely from one side to the other.

This isn’t just a design choice; it’s a significant piece of engineering. That curved rafter system doesn’t just look unique; it completely changes the atmosphere of the space, providing a distinct feeling of extra headroom and airiness that flat-roofed alternatives just can’t match.

Perfect Combinations and Practical Solutions

A premium structure deserves a premium finish. For Robert’s carport, we utilised a classic combination that works in almost any environment: a RAL 9005 Jet Black frame paired with an Opal polycarbonate roof. The black framework provides a striking contrast against the gravel driveway and red brick, while the opal roofing allows plenty of bright, diffused light through while blocking harmful UV rays.

We also ensured the practicality matched the aesthetics. If you look closely at the supporting posts against the brickwork, you’ll see our neat downspout integration. We connected the canopy’s water runoff directly into the building’s original soakaway system, ensuring efficient drainage without messy external pipes.

Robert wanted a comfortable two-car cover, but he ended up with an architectural feature that enhances his entire property. We are incredibly proud of this Salisbury installation.
