Yesterday was… wet. To say the rain was torrential would be a massive understatement. But at Kappion, we don’t let a major downpour stand in the way of a flawless installation.
The team power-punched through the elements in Hinckley to deliver a stunning new carport for our customer, Dean. Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, the entire canopy was installed and completed in just one day—and Dean couldn’t be happier with the result.

The Challenge: Loading Up in the Dry
Dean is an avid fisherman, which means early mornings and a lot of gear to load into his van. If you’ve ever tried packing up fishing tackle, rods, and bait in the pouring rain, you know exactly why Dean needed a solution. He wanted a reliable, stylish cover so he could load up his van in complete comfort, completely shielded from the British weather.
The Specification: Sleek, Bright, and Seamless
We customised a Simple Qcurve canopy tailored precisely to Dean’s home and aesthetic preferences:
- Colour Match: Finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey to perfectly complement his existing electric roller garage door.
- The Roof: Fitted with 10mm clear polycarbonate glazing to ensure maximum light transmission, keeping the space underneath and the adjacent windows bright.
- Smart Drainage: Designed with an internal downpipe at the front, keeping the external lines incredibly clean and managing heavy downpours with ease.
The “Floating” Effect
What makes this installation truly special is its architectural cleverness. By utilising a wall-attached eaves beam on one side and an inset front post, the canopy creates an illusion of weightlessness. It looks as though it’s floating right against the house, maintaining a clean, modern, and unobstructed driveway.
