Jack approached us with a requirement of a large canopy to cover his outdoor area. Jack lives in a stunning rural location on the outskirts of Langholm, on the top of a hill. Therefore he experiences high winds and driving rain. One our canopies would provide him with the perfect solution. He was won over by the stunning aesthetics.
Jack previously had a canopy, which he used for a variety of applications. His old carport fell apart. The new carport will be much larger and will be an area used for loading his trailer, loading cars, keeping logs dry and sitting out in the summer months. It will generally be a nice covered space between his garage and back door. The area was a complicated space, therefore we used our advanced technical scanning capability, allowing us to design a canopy to fit the space perfectly.
Once we had confirmed sizes, Jack signed off the final drawings and asked for the structure to be powder coated in ‘Jet Black’ Fine Textured (RAL9005), which would complement the surroundings, buildings and vehicles being covered. Whilst the colour looks contemporary, there are a total of 1,625 colours that our canopies can be powder coated in.
Jack chose clear polycarbonate for the roof glazing which would allow as much light as possible into the canopy. On the back right-hand corner of the canopy, you can see that there is a section cut out. This is to ensure that nobody hits their head when walking up (or down) the stairway to the upper garden. Also the posts on the right side of the canopy have to be raised to cater to the raised garden behind the stone wall. All other posts are wall attached.
Once a manufactured delivered date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a suitable date for the canopy to be delivered and erected.
Finally, the installation of Jack’s canopy was straightforward and by the end of the first day, the canopy structure was set in place and bolted together. On the second day our fitters installed the polycarbonate sheets, cleaned up and presented the canopy to Jack, who was over the moon with the finished product.
