The initial visit with Brian was to discuss the size of his carport, the post positions and the ground level. Brian also asked if we could remove one of his fence posts when we come to install, as he is wanting the carport post to replace it. We used our BLK360 Leica scanner to determine the exact sizes for the carport. Our scanner captures a detailed scan of the desired area and transfers them into little points, we then open the scan into a point-cloud file and begin designing the carport for our customer.
We always create a 3D walkthrough visual for our customers post-survey. This visual shows them exactly how their canopy will look and fit! The first visual isn’t always what the customer wants, and that’s fine! We have no issue with revisions. This canopy has to be exactly what the customer wants!
Brian loved the visual and the design we had come up with. As he wanted to ensure the carport would not impact the way he drove into this driveway, we had to come up with a tapered solution to fit the area. We tapered the right-hand side closer to the property, and inset the post. Brian used a cone to mimic where the post would be, and it worked perfectly. No issues!
Shortly after our survey and final quote, the deposit was paid and therefore the CAD drawings were then raised. Once the final revision had been signed off, Brian specified that he wanted the structure to be powder coated in Jet Black (RAL 9005). Bronze polycarbonate was chosen for the roof, which is the most effective when surrounded by bushes and trees.
After the canopy had been manufactured, our team organised the installation date to suit him and his schedule. The canopy installation got off to a swift start and our guys experienced no problems on-site. The framework was secured, squared off and cemented in place on day 1, allowing our guys to fix the polycarbonate and clean up on day 2.
Once completed, our professional fitting team handed it over to Brian. He inspected his carport to ensure he was happy, which he was! Brian was ecstatic with his new carport which provides him all year round protection for his vehicle, providing a low maintenance canopy as opposed to a timber pergola, which would require regular treatment/painting.
