Mike at Leighton Vans contacted us looking for a large tapered Vehicle Valet bay attached to the side of his building. Mike wanted the vehicle valet bay installed to protect his workers from the weather elements and to stop overspray from the jet wash.
Shortly after Mike’s enquiry, we scheduled a site visit where we could conduct a survey. We needed to check the site, the ground level, determine final post positions and the measurements. Following our visit, our surveyor and client established that all posts and footplates would be bolted to surface. Mike wanted the canopy to be made on 2 levels to avoid the company sign and to allow it to still be visible from the road.
Mike confirmed the size of the canopy and wanted to clad the walls in power coated trapezoidal. The production drawings were then signed off by Mike. He then chose to have a galvanised finish, to keep the costs down. Clear polycarbonate was the choice for the roof glazing, which allows as much light as possible to flood into the work area beneath the canopy.
Once installation began the canopy took shape fairly quickly baring in mind the size. By the end of the first day, the roof framework was levelled and secured. The second day was spent securing the posts to the the beams and bolting down to surface. The third and fourth day was spent cladding the canopy with trapezoidal cladding and fitting the electric roller shutter door. The last day was spent glazing the canopy with polycarbonate. Installation took 5 days in total.
We then gave the canopy a final wipe down then handed over to Mike to take one last look around before we left site. Mike was overjoyed with the final result.
