Patrick at Godalming Ambulance Station contacted us with the need of an ambulance wash bay canopy. As the ambulances need to be washed and cleaned every single day, a wash bay canopy was a necessity. Due to harsh weather conditions, Patrick wanted to please his workforce and offer them the protection that’s promised with one of our wash bay canopies. As the workers would be underneath the canopy for most of the day, the wash bay canopy had to be structurally sound.
Following our estimate, we organised a site survey so that we could have a look at the site. Due to the existing concrete foot pads, we were able to use bolt to surface foot plates. The site was a big open space and has easy access. The canopy needed to be installed to the right of their building, but still be free-standing. It quickly became apparent that this would be an easy job for the Kappion team.
Once Patrick confirmed the size of the canopy, he chose to have the structure powder coated in Reseda Green (RAL 6011), as it was a close match to the building cladding. The production drawings were raised and signed off by Patrick. We specified clear polycarbonate for the roof, this lets as much light as possible to flood into the work area underneath the canopy.
The installation was completed within two days and by the end of the first day, the framework was bolted, secured and levelled in preparation for the roof glazing to be installed. Finally, the canopy was cleaned and inspected by Patrick.
After the installation, it was evident that the Reseda Green finish and clear polycarbonate worked well together. The canopy looked substantial and the working area underneath the canopy was light and airy. We provided Godalming Ambulance Station with the perfect solution to maintain their daily clean! Patrick was very pleased with the finished product.
