The Vision: Maximising Space, Minimising Clutter
The standout feature of this particular installation isn’t just its size—though at 6.5m wide by 6m long, it offers substantial coverage—but its minimal footprint.
In many traditional carport designs, you would expect to see a forest of support posts. However, through precision engineering and a site-specific design, the Kappion team managed to install this massive structure with only one post concreted into the ground. By wall-attaching the rest of the frame directly to the property, we maintained an open, “floating” feel that allows for easy maneuvering and a totally unobstructed driveway.
Premium Specifications for a Premium Location
A carport in a location like Hale needs to look the part. We worked closely with the customer to select a colour palette and material finish that felt both modern and timeless.
- The Framework: The entire structure is manufactured from high-grade steel, hot-dip galvanised for longevity, and finished in a powder-coated Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016). This “architectural” grey is a firm favourite among designers for its ability to blend seamlessly with modern window frames and garage doors.
- The Roof: For the glazing, we utilised Opal Polycarbonate. Unlike clear glazing, the Opal finish provides a soft, diffused light that prevents the area underneath from becoming too hot in the summer while still keeping the space bright and airy.
- The Clearance: With a drive-through height of 2.25m at the lowest point, the carport easily accommodates larger SUVs and 4x4s, ensuring future-proof utility for the homeowner.
