Barrel Curved Carport installed in Croydon for Cowan Architects

Beth at Cowan Architects approached us with a requirement for a wide double carport to be installed at the front of their customer’s property. Cowan Architects predominantly deal with homes that are set up for the disabled. We had to meet certain requirements, such as working around the soffits, fascias, roof line and the downpipe position. The downpipe had to exit into the existing eco drain.

Shortly after Cowan Architects made their enquiry, we arranged a site visit. On our site visits, we check the ground level and the surrounding area. We use our Leica scanner to gather all of the points of the desired area for the carport and then hand over the data to our CAD designer to create a visual for our customer to see. This is to see if they liked the design and if they’d like to go ahead and send their canopy into production. Our designer created a barrel curved carport because it not only looks amazing, but ensures that the water will run off the poly and straight into the gutter.

As our team of estimators, surveyors and designers have a wealth of experience in meeting our customers needs, Beth was free to liaise with us to determine the most effective solution. This was also helped by her excellent communication and as a result, the project was underway very quickly.

Beth signed the final drawings off following our site survey and asked for the carport to be powder coated in ‘Jet Black Fine Textured’ (RAL9005), which would complement the surroundings and our customer’s property. Clear polycarbonate was then selected for the roof glazing which would allow as much light as possible to flood into the canopy, whilst providing protection from UV rays.

Once a manufactured delivered date had been confirmed, the installation team arranged a date for the canopy to be delivered and erected which worked with their schedule.

Finally, the installation of the Carport was stress-free and only two days were required to complete the installation. After a final clean down and walk around with Beth, it was clear that the Kappion team had delivered exactly what was asked.
